2022/23 Council Budget -Chandler Overview

Artist’s impression of the Brisbane Metro on the busway.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has handed down Council’s $4 Billion Budget for 2022/23.

The budget outlines the Schrinner Council’s plan for rebuilding and recovering Brisbane, alongside long term projects like the Brisbane Metro, Victoria Park Vision and the Green Bridges program.

This year sees an overhaul of Council’s better suburbs program, with a record investment of $3.4 billion across drainage projects, libraries, footpaths, pools and sun-safe playgrounds.

Council is also investing $505 million into rebuilding & recovery programs as well as $1.7 billion into better transport for Brisbane.

As usual, there’s plenty for the city at large, but locally our ward hasn’t missed out.

I’m proud to say that this budget delivers for Chandler Ward, with just over $5 million in projects slated to start over the next financial year.

Below you can find a quick summary of what the budget means for Chandler or alternatively scroll down past this summary for a breakdown of schedules.
