Tilley Road & Grassdale Road Safety Improvements🚧

We are making important changes to improve safety at Tilley Rd and Grassdale Rd intersection.

Council will be conducting works from 9 December 2025 to late December 2025 (weather and site conditions permitting). These works will be carried out at night when traffic volumes are lowest, between the hours of 7pm-5am from Sunday-Thursday.

These improvements include:

🚨 Installing Tactile alert strips

🚨 Prepare to stop warning sign with flashing lights

🚨 Extending kerb to maximise visual impact

🚨 New LED street lighting

🚨 New line marking on Grassdale Rd

Why is this work happening?

Between 2018 and 2022, there were 7 crashes at this intersection, resulting in a mix of hospitalisations and minor injuries.

Four of the 7 crashes were a result of motorists on Grassdale Road failing to give way to motorists on Tilley Road.

These new features on Grassdale Road will alert road users they’re approaching the intersection, improving safety for everyone.
