Meadowbank St Park Basketball Court Removal- Survey Results

I recently distributed a community survey to seek local residents’ views on the suggestion to remove the basketball court from Meadowbank Street Park.

I have now compiled the results of the survey - thank you to the households that took the time to provide their feedback.

A total of 83 responses were received; the anonymous responses have been excluded as they could not be verified (they could have all been submitted by the same person).

Given this, the results are 63 votes to “Retain” and 20 votes to “Remove”.

As there is no strong community sentiment to remove the basketball court, the court will remain.

Having said this, Council will install hours of use signage, and I would urge anyone that is affected by anti-social behaviour to contact PoliceLink on 131 444 at the time the behaviour is occurring.
