Free green waste weekends in September

Great news for residents as the Council announces free green waste disposal at all resource recovery centres over September.

This is a great opportunity for residents especially in Chandler, Gumdale, Burbank, Ransome and Wakerley to clean up after the recent flooding and storms.

Dates:

10th & 11th September

17th & 18th September

24th & 25th September

Acceptable green waste includes:

  • Branches

  • Palm Fronds

  • Weeds

  • Tree and shrub prunings

  • Loose bark

  • Grass clippings

Outside of these dates, residents can use their waste vouchers or register for Council’s green waste recycling service.

Free hazardous waste drop-off

Do you need to get rid of any bleach, garden or pool chemicals or cleaning solvents?

Council has organised a free hazardous waste drop-off day on September 3 at the Chandler Resource Recovery Centre.

This helps keep our waterways clear of harmful chemicals that may end up in the ecosystem.

If you're unsure of what is defined as hazardous waste, you can click here to find out more.
