Carindale Major Centres Plan

Westfield Carindale

Brisbane’s population is growing, and we need more housing choices for every stage of life. Higher construction costs and workforce shortages have affected the cost of homes. A steady pipeline of new homes is essential to meet the needs of our growing city.

With limited land availability in Brisbane, growing up, not out in existing centres is vital to use our infrastructure efficiently, protect our green spaces, and reduce long commutes.

Indooroopilly, Carindale and Nundah major centres are some of our best located service and employment hubs, close to high frequency public transport. Increasing building height and encouraging more housing and mixed use development in these centres will make best use of existing and planned infrastructure, avoid urban sprawl and support more housing choice and jobs.
