Bulimba Creek Bikeway reconstruction

The Bulimba Creek Bikeway is an important part of our active transport infrastructure in the eastern suburbs with thousands of residents from all walks of life utilising it every day.

As the eastern suburbs grow, so does our need for bigger and better active transport infrastructure, especially as eMobility devices take the world by storm.

I’m proud to announce that as part of Council’s 2022/23 Budget, we are investing $275,000 into reconstructing the Baynes St to Breadsell St section of the Bulimba Creek Bikeway.

Over 450 metres of footpath will be extended to 3 metres wide in the reconstruction to allow for more space for residents to walk and ride safely.

Residents can expect some inconveniences during construction as the existing footpath will be ripped up.

I look forward to Council extending other sections of the bikeway in the future as more funding becomes available.
