Council’s parks design team have returned with an exciting new concept plan for the park.

After years of planning, the Aminya St Village Precinct Project is complete.

The project aims to enhance the visual amenity, public transport connections, and suburban safety of residents and visitors to the neighbourhood centre.

The Schrinner Council is creating more free fun in our suburbs with the completion of 3 new pickleball courts at Sheriff Park, Wakerley.

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in Brisbane at the moment and these courts have been popular since they opened only a month ago.

As promised during the 2024 Council election, we have committed $108,000 for investigation, design and consultation to convert the existing Tilley Road road corridor into a 1.5km bikeway and park.

As one of the most popular parks in the Chandler Ward, Carindale Recreation Reserve is a hub for locals to ride their bikes, walk, play on the playground, or kick a ball around.

However, it’s starting to look tired and dated, having been last upgraded over a decade ago. That’s why we will conduct a community consultation on what you would like to see added or improved at Carindale Recreation Reserve.

ANZAC Day is a time for us to reflect on and honour the sacrifices of those who have served, past and present.

Tillack Park in Carindale is one of our most popular parks as it runs along the Bulimba Creek Bikeway.

Unfortunately, Council had to remove one of the playgrounds due to frequent damage from flooding.

I’m hearing that residents of Carindale are feeling increasingly unsafe in our community as crime rates rise.

In particular I’ve heard from many bus commuters that while they feel safe on the bus, as soon as they get off the bus to walk home, that level of safety drops.

I am pleased to unveil the plans for the Aminya Street Village Precinct Project in Mansfield.

We have been working with the local community to build and revitalise this precinct for a number of years now and the plans are coming to fruition.

Unfortunately, storm season means a high level of rain, and increased chance of flash flooding, especially in a number of places in Chandler Ward that are low lying.

I have been able to secure, 3 new Automated Flood Road Warning Systems to be installed in Chandler Ward.

As Mackenzie and surrounding areas continue to grow, it is important to ensure that our parks continue to meet the recreational needs of residents.

Council conducted consultation with Mackenzie residents in late 2021 to help create a shared vision for Mt Petrie Rd Park that will provide a framework to guide the future of the park in keeping with the heritage of the area and the community values and needs.

The consultation saw 75 responses from the community that were received online and at the onsite information kiosk.

Minnippi Golf & Range (formally known as Cannon Hill Community Links) is Brisbane’s first new public golf course in over 70 years. Across its 125-hectare site, it has an 18-hole golf course, 20-bay driving range, cafe and more!

Brisbane City Council are offering FREE greenwaste drop-off weekends over the next few months, to help the residents of Brisbane make their homes and properties safe this storm and fire season. The green waste drop-off weekends are:

4 Months ago we officially opened Grandview Place Park, Carindale.

Since the opening I have had residents tell me how great the playground is and how popular it is, however, they have said with Summer approaching it is starting to get very hot during the day and shade is needed.

I am pleased to advise that I have been able to organise for shade sails to be installed at the playground next month (October 2023) just in time for Summer.

You may have noticed that some bus stops have recently been installed in Greendale Way, Carindale.

I’m pleased to advise that starting on Monday 31 July 2023, I have arranged for the 178-bus route to be redirected to Greendale Way.
