Volunteer Management Training for the community

volunteer workshop.png

In November, Council is offering a short series of free, full-day training sessions on the volunteer management cycle to interested community organisations and associations.

This training is relevant and open to all community groups, community organisations, Men’s and Women’s Sheds, and anyone else who is involved in recruiting or retaining volunteers.

Volunteers are an essential part to any community activity and it is important to understand how to recruit, utilise, encourage and maintain volunteers.

Topics that will be covered in the training sessions include:

  • the Volunteer Management Cycle

  • recruitment

  • selection and screening

  • retention and recognition

These workshops that run from 9am to 4pm aim to enhance the capacity of community organisation representatives across Brisbane around managing and supporting volunteers. Dates and locations of the four sessions, alongside the link to register, can be found below. Please note that due to expected high demand, only two participants are able to attend per organisation.
