New toilets for Tillack Park

Tillack Park Upgrade: Stage 3

After the installation of a new and updated playground in Stage 1, and upgraded picnic areas, shelters, taps, bins, seating and shade sails in Stage 2, its time for the long-awaited Stage 3 of the Tillack Park upgrade!

As locals are aware, these amenities are very tired and have been affected by flood events over the years.

They’ve now reached end of life and will be demolished and completely replaced with a brand new toilet block.

What the upgrade includes

  • Demolition of existing building

  • Asbestos removal

  • Construction of new facility in the same location

  • Improved sight lines

  • More flood resilient materials

  • Enhanced accessibility for users of all abilities

Timeline

Works will take place between 6.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday from 20 October 2025 to early 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.

Asbestos removal inside the toilet block will occur on 21 and 22 October 2025.

This will be carried out by a licensed contractor in full compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld).

Safety measures will include a secure exclusion zone, fencing, and signage.

Important considerations

While I am very excited for this upgrade to begin, it is important to note that these facilities will be closed during the construction period.

Unfortunately temporary facilities will not be provided during this time.

You may notice some increased noise and vehicle movement during the works.

All other areas of the park should remain unaffected by this work, ensuring safe play and access around the worksite is maintained.

For more information about these works you can contact the project team on 3178 5413 during business hours or email cityprojects@brisbane.qld.gov.au.

Alternatively you can call Council’s 24/7 Contact Centre on 3403 8888.

I can’t wait for these upgrades to be completed, and for everyone to be able to enjoy a new and improved Tillack Park!
