Budget ‘brings home the bacon’ for Doboy Ward

Last week Lord Mayor Graham Quirk handed down his 2017/18 Council budget.

This budget, like those handed down previously retains our 'Strong' credit rating and delivers an operating surplus to Council.

It's only through strong financial management that Council can continue to deliver more than ever before for our suburbs.

Our budget continues to deliver our five point plan to keep Brisbane on the right track through;

  • Real action on traffic congestion

  •  Modern and reliable public transport

  •  A cleaner, greener and more sustainable city

  •  A strong local economy

  •  Exciting lifestyle and leisure opportunities

Some highlights of the Lord Mayor's 2017-18 Budget include:

  •  Tackling traffic congestion and delivering smoother streets - $1.087 billion

  •  Public Transport - $654.7 million

  •  Clean and Green City - $583 million

  •  Lifestyle and Leisure - $307.1 million

  •  Economic Growth and Jobs - $441.1 million

To see how your rates are invested, we've put together a small video below.
